2008 Missouri Bluebird Conference Site & Host Hotel

Our Terrific “Conference Chair”, Michael O’Keefe, has provided the following description  and information about the site for the 2008 Missouri Bluebird conference. Michael did nearly all of the work getting this location secured for us and making the arrangements with the hotel and nature center. We appreciate his hard work!

Many of the sessions will take place in the conference center of the Independence, Missouri Hilton Garden Inn, which features over 200 guest rooms, each with a microwave oven and refrigerator.  The  hotel is located just north of I-70 at the Little Blue Parkway exit (just east of 291/470 exit). Several retail stores and restaurants are within walking distance, and many others are less than a mile away, including Bass Pro Shop and Independence Center.

Some of the conference activities will take place at
Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center, located approximately 5 miles to the east in Blue Springs. Burr Oak Woods is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation, whose naturalists will be on hand to provide information about Missouri's natural resources. Additionally, you may take time to walk one of the five trails on the property.”
